7 the title says it all. This is the 7th record Grits has released on Gotee. While Grammatical Revolution established GRITS as underground icons, The Art of Translation solidified the group's assent as one of hip-hop's hottest new rising stars. The 2002 disc set new sales records, inspired a remix with Talib Kweli, and landed its hit "Here We Go" in the Jack Nicholson film "Something's Gotta Give." The disc also added spins to GRITS' radio-video track record, which includes cracking MTV2's Top 10 Most Requested and Top 5 Handpicked and climbing countless hip-hop charts including Gavin, CMJ, Hits, and PAJ (where they set a ten-week record at number one). The Didn’t stop there Dichotomy A & B just kept the motor running. This new collection combines the best of the best from GRITS successful seven year career on Gotee Records, plus three new remixes! |

In the past four years, hip-hop artist KJ-52 has broken down many of the barriers that have existed between traditional urban music and Christian consumers. What started as a Florida-based street ministry has grown to include magazine covers, successful radio singles, movie soundtracks and national touring. KJ-52 has also had an amazing impact on culture due to the uncompromising "Dear Slim" which challenges mainstream rapper Eminem's negative outlook on the world. KJ's mission has remained pure, and consumers are responding to his authenticity. KJ-52's critically-acclaimed national debut, produced by former Gotee Brother Todd Collins, was nominated for a Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year. New fans will want to complete their KJ-52 collections with the re-release of 7th Avenue which includes five previously unreleased tracks, KJ's version of dc talk's "The Hardway" plus guest appearances by GRITS, Knowdaverbs, Amani, Cross Movement and others. |

What happens after the music stops and the show is over? Lecrae is back with his gritty, southern style and versatile delivery that captivated audiences on his debut release Real Talk. Poised to deliver more truth to the world, Lecrae returns with a much-needed message on his sophomore effort "After The Music Stops." From the beginning of his music ministry, Lecrae’s heart has always been dedicated to broaden the fans’ view of who God truly is. Now after extensive touring opportunities across the U.S. to large and small venues, from churches to outdoor stages with audiences ranging from the inner-city to the suburbs, Lecrae has gained a first-hand insight of the issues and struggles that today’s youth are facing. After having a chance to see how so many music fans, particularly the youth, are infatuated with modern-day rappers and multi-media stardom, Lecrae wants them to instead become infatuated with Jesus Christ. While many may look at him as a star or famous rapper, Lecrae’s only goal in "After the Music Stops" is to urge listeners to glorify God with their lifestyle by pointing them to the person of Jesus Christ. Lecrae has purposed to let them know that God is more concerned about what life looks like after the music stops. “I’m all about representing Christ with your whole life whether that's in a crowd or in everyday life,” says Lecrae. He desperately wants everyone to understand God’s call is about a complete lifestyle devoted to the Lord, not just about performing at shows. Introspective songs like "I Did It For You" and crowd-pleasing tracks such as "Run" showcase Lecrae’s unique ability to mix his distinctive southern style into a versatile sound of authentic Hip Hop. Keeping a tight connection to his listeners while delivering a heart-convicting message with passionate energy, "After the Music Stops" is sure to be an inspirational tool in the arsenal of youth striving to live for the glory of Christ. |

Following up the successful debut EP, "Rebirth of Hip-Hop," J Remy has taken the spotlight yet again in his sophomore release, "The Backwoods Legend." Back behind the board again is Kene "Ghost" Bell (Grits, Toby Mac, Fred Hammond, Out of Eden) as J Remy, along with friends and company that read off like Grammy nominations, including Kevin Max (of DC Talk) Bonafide (of Grits) and Pigeon John (of LA Symphony) lend their talent to the record. Escaping from the one-dimensional sound that plagues a plethora of hip-hop artists, J Remy displays his diversity with the soulful R&B ballad, "Remedy" along with the hype anthem "Country Boys" and the ever-unique country hip-hop ho-down in "Bring 'Em Back Down Here." Covering topics from hope to healing, Mississippi to marriage, and fun to faith, J Remy effectively delivers what others want to say, but don't have the guts to record. |

KJ-52 is a rare find in today's Christian hip hop world. A Caucasian American MC who has risen to prominence in a largely black arena, he is at once a respectful student of the art form and a genuine hip hop innovator, stretching the boundaries of both its sound and shape. And regardless of where he's working- from churches and huge Christian festivals to the heart of the hip hop club scene, KJ can hold his own, with ease, against the best rappers in the business. Indeed, there's nothing that smacks of the poseur in KJ; rather, everything about his work screams "the real deal." The special, limited-edition two-disc collection features the new songs "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Washed Up," plus an enhanced CD with music videos, behind-thescenes clips, link to audio devotionals and more. |

While there are plenty of talented DJ’s out in the hip-hop world, there are not many with the passion for Christ that Beatmart Recordings’ artist DJ Morphiziz brings to the table. With his upcoming August 1 release of Best of the Submissions: Volume 3, the street-wise DJ, who nationally tours with the legendary KJ-52, brings even more of what so many have craved from Best of the Submissions Volumes 1 and 2: Authentic Hip-Hop! The impact that Best of the Submissions: Volume 3 will have on the marketplace will be substantial. DJ Morphiziz shares his heart in this. “Best of the Submissions: Volume 3 is a record that will bring all four corners of the United States together,” states Morph. “We have two reggaeton songs, East Coast hip-hop and West Coast emcee’s. This record has it all and is geographically well represented in talent!” This record is set up and promoted by the Submissions contest at Beatmart.com. While the Submissions records highlight the best in emerging talent on the record, the submissions contest provides the opportunity to move beyond the invitation-only invites to allow members of the Beatmart community at large to vote for the overall winner to have a spot on the next record. Aspiring emcee’s place the enhanced CD into the computer and submit their music online to be considered for one of six Submission rounds. In short, carrying the Best of the Submissions: Volume 3 is a great way for artists to represent not only themselves, but retail as well. |

Fierce for fall 2005 arises a revolution of spirit and mind thanks to West Coast rap veteran, T-Bone, and his next-level disc, Bone-A-Fide. Setting the rap game ablaze with rapid, spittin', tongue-twistin' skillz, mind-boggling versatility, and gritty messages of positivity, T-Bone is on a mission to illuminate the darkness that has descended upon hip-hop. With a supporting cast of guardian angels that includes heavyweight street heat Mack 10 and Chino XL, the man they call "Boney-Bone Corleone" is strapped with equal parts SANCT-I-FIDE and FUNK-A-FIDE for a battle to return hip-hop to its glory days. Grammy nominated T-Bone has rocked the mic alongside righteous artists from KRS-One to Yolanda Adams, hosts two TV music programs "TX-10" (Dish Network) and "Real Videos" (TBN), plus given standout performances in the feature film and soundtrack "The Fighting Temptations" (with Beyonce and Cuba Gooding, Jr.). |
|
 |
Take the best of T-Bone's last three albums, add some exclusive, sought-after tracks, and mix in a few new, tasty surprises, and you have a more-than-generous sonic feast ala T-Bone. Its diverse eighteen-track menu, which draws from his two Grammy-nominated albums, The Last Street Precha (2001) and Bone-A-Fide (2006), will satisfy the largest of fan appetites - and all "taste-buds," with exotic and experimental influences ranging from Latin, Arabic, Indian, Caribbean, and even Gypsy sounds. The heart behind Bone Appetit! was to "capture the best of the last six years for fans," says T-Bone. As the ninth album in the music pioneer's fifteen-year recording career, it also represents a rich journey of growth through "struggles and triumphs, and good and bad times." One of the definite highlights of these years was his standout performances in the feature film and soundtrack The Fighting Temptations (with Beyonce and Cuba Gooding, Jr.). Of all the tracks on the album, the "chef's favorite" is the new Latin/Caribbean-flavored dance gem, "Sing Your Praises" (Featuring Natalie LaRue and Mark Stuart of Audio Adrenaline), which is exclusively available in both English and Spanish on Bone Appetit! Another song on this Best Of that is not available on a previous album is the fan favorite "Raised in Harlem" from Hero: The Rock Opera. T-Bone shows the fun side of his lyrical brilliance on the comical "Pentecostal Horse Racing," as well as on the Christian artist based new song, "Name Dropping" (Feat. Eric Dawkins). If that's not enough to fill you up, for dessert T-Bone serves up a scoop of "King Of My Life" (Feat. Natalie LaRue), which is a fan favorite available only on this album. If Bone Appetit! is what T-Bone has to show for the last six years, fans should be licking their lips in anticipation of what is to come. "My plan for the future is to continue to sue all the gifts and talents God has given me and do more movies, more music, and more books," says the tireless T-Bone. |

You’ve probably heard some of Rob’s songs within the last year with cuts on both Best of the Submissions vol. 1 and vol. 2, as well as lending his vocal talents on Pee Wee Callins’ track “Fire.” Known in the streets for years, and now in the industry as a great innovative hip-hop artist that will be listed as one of the prominent acts to come, the much anticipated debut album This is only the beginning…Rob Hodge is here. It’s a new day in hip-hop indeed. |

Citizens Activ is about people that are taking action in their lives & communities and striving for a dream that is bigger than they are. This record is a fusion of Hard Rock, Hip-Hop, mixed with pop styles that’ll will make this album a classic for years to come. When asked about the record, Manafest said “In my case I’m speaking about the musical journey of being an artist, like sleeping on floors, driving through the night and being away from home. The result is seeing kids lives affected in a positive way and knowing you played a small part in it.” |

Featuring collaborations with John Reuben, ill harmonics, Pigeon John and more, the new album from KJ-52 includes "Sonshine," "This or That," "Dear Slim" and "Wait for You." |

Crazy Praise, the debut release by Atlanta based Dice Gamble, joins high-energy tracks with beautiful vocal arrangements creating a style uniquely her own. Dice’s versatility will take listeners to a new plateau with “I Call Him” an uptempo ballad that heads will bob to and convict souls to accept the message of God. “Can’t Nobody” and “Jesus Your Love For Me” are reminders that love from Jesus Christ is the most enduring. “Crazy Praise” and “Satan Get Behind Me” illustrate why all ages will enjoy this album for a lifetime. Produced by some of the best including Devine Evans (Mary J Blige, Sammie, Lloyd) and Khalisani Morris (Nappy Roots, Dionne Farris) Crazy Praise has a definite up with the times appeal. |

Phanatik returns with his unique underground classic sound with his sophomore release Crime & Consequences- a much needed wake up call intended to unglamorize sin in many of it’s popular forms and show it for what it is, or better yet, what it produces. All sin is pleasurable for a short season, and there is a way that seems right to man, but in the end, that way is Death. Our world is witnessing the breakdown of society in America and in other places around the globe. The trusted institutions of government and religion have come under considerable scrutiny as leading figures in these arenas have betrayed the trust of those they serve. Crime is on the rise, in many cities, violent crime. The news overwhelms us with reports of these events, while white collar, corporate crimes often go unannounced and sometimes un-prosecuted. But law codes are not the only thing being broken, God’s heart is also breaking as His world lives contrary to His word. David knew this when he wrote in the Psalms, “against You oh Lord only have I sinned.” Of course David’s sin involved others, but he understood that had he not been able to sin against God, he would have never sinned against his fellow man. Fortunately David repented, though he still had to live with some of the consequences of his crimes against God and man. In a world like ours that glamorizes crime and criminals through movies, video games and music, this album deals with the sin of man and looks at the concept of sin as crimes against God. The consequences are obvious though we don’t always connect them to the displeasure of God. At first it will seem as though the album is strictly dealing with petty street crimes, but eventually the idea of God being the offended judge of all types of crimes will ring out. Finally, a rap album that doesn’t just account for crime, but counters it with an eternal perspective. Crime & Consequences. |
