The Grammy-nominated, Stellar Award-winning Deitrick Haddon decided that his third Verity release, 7 Days, would speak to both the church and urban audience. Not to worry, this pastor's child has not left the church behind in any way. One listen to the track "True Worship" (which is backed by a full choir) and there will be no doubt of his love of the good word. Make no mistake, however, as Deitrick's 7 Days leans heavily on the contemporary side as well. "DD" makes no apologies for wanting to reach out to the urban audience through contemporary beats and rhythms with a spiritually directed and moving message. This release reinforces Haddon's exceptional range as a vocalist, songwriter and producer. Focus tracks include the dynamic vocal and topically relevant lyrics on "Heaven Knows," "Heavenly Father" and the aforementioned "True Worship." 7 Days was executive produced by Tim and Bob whose production credits include work with Joe, Bobby Valentino, Brian McKnight, Brandy, Tyrese and Whitney Houston, to name a few. Deitrick and his brother Gerald (who is also a member of Gospo Centric's Soul Seekers) are producers on the project as well.

7 Sons of Soul

Although the group's name may be unfamiliar, members Cliff Jones, Deonte Gray, Nathaniel Fields, Paul Edwards and David Linsey are anything but strangers to the gospel community. Jones, a former roadie for the Winans Brothers' who made his recording debut on William Becton's lauded track "Be Encouraged" and Gray, a backing vocalist for Patti LaBelle, commenced their recording partnership with the inspirational track "Run On." Following the creative success of this studio collaboration, Jones and Gray elected to make the union official and continue recording under the name 7 Sons of Soul. The fruits of this pairing, with the addition of musicians Fields, Edwards, and Linsey, are displayed on this album, representative of the archetypal quartet genre with a modern, urban spin. From the first lilting notes of the classic "Amazing Grace" at the album's open, to the inspirational message of spiritual strength like the biblical "Job" at the album's close, 7's debut is rich with traditional religious themes set to contemporary, fresh beats. Soon-to-be gospel favorites featured on this disc include the Hawkins Family remake "He's Coming Back," conjuring comparisons to labelmates The Canton Spirituals, the easygoing mid-tempo "He's So Real" and future wedding favorite "My All," both presenting soul singer Raheem DeVaughn as co-writer and backing vocalist, and the rousing "What Is This" with cameo appearances by Pam Kinyon of Radical For Christ and gospel powerhouse Fred Hammond. Born, raised & highly symbolic of the Chicago music scene, Gospel singer Ricky Dillard has made a name for himself as musical force to be reckoned with. Dillard began at an early age directing the youth choir in his church (at the age of five), and later the young adult choirs. Dillard drew inspiration from other gospel performers including Rev. Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers; Dr. Mattie Moss Clark; Dr. Charles G. Hayes, and Thomas Whitfield. Dillard continued to direct choirs locally and was a member of the Thompson Community Singers. Dillard’s soulful and powerful sound has been instantly recognizable since his debut in the early 90s.

This project focuses upon her powerful personal testimony surrounding the development of her faith, family and career. A Praise In The Valley is dedicated to the love and life of Mike Allen as he, by the grace of God, was given the opportunity to produce, perform, and complete the project before his untimely passing. The battle was hard but it only served to edify Lexi as an artist, a wife and mother while making her more resolute in her faith, 'I never back down from a fight - - satan cannot get me on my faith. I know who I am now. God allowed me to see it. '
